Come see the flower festival in Toowoomba, without having to worry about all the driving, parking and road closures. And make some friends whilst you’re at i!
September is the time of the year to visit Toowoomba for their amazing flower festival. Celebrate the end of winter with all the flowers looking their finest in one of Australia’s prettiest country towns.
First up on the itinerary is the Grand Central Floral Parade – a popular highlight of the festival. Come along to watch street performers, carnival characters and roving
entertainment escort the stunning floral floats on their journey through
the heart of the city to Queens Park.
Next we’ll be off to the picturesque Laurel Bank Park. Laurel Bank is the place in Toowoomba to see all the flora in all it’s glory. As well as beautifully manicured gardens, there are also food trucks and brass bands playing.
After Laurel Bank park we’ll take you to the other big park for the flower festival: Queen’s Park. As well as more spectacular greenery, Queen’s Park is handy to the entrance to the Cobb n Co museum and cafe. We’ll give you a few good hours around Queen’s Park where you’ll be able to choose what you’d like to do. Another good option available is visiting individual’s homes and their spectacular gardens. People entering the best garden competition allow visitors inside to come and have a gander at the ‘fruits of their labour’. After this stop we’ll head back to Brisbane.
This is a great opportunity for ladies to make some new friends if you’ve just moved to Brisbane, or find all your current friends stay
home too often! Everyone in attendance will be friendly and looking to make friends – no cliquey groups. Our host Josie will be there to greet you at Roma St, make introductions throughout the day and ensure everyone is included.
